Cruciate Ligament Injuries
In some unexpected situations and hard blows to the joint, especially during traumas that force the knee joint to rotate around itself, these ligaments may be damaged and torn. Since more load is placed on the anterior cruciate ligament during movements, tears are also more common. At the first tear, there may be tenderness and swelling in the knee joint with severe pain, and the movement becomes very difficult. In this case, it is necessary not to continue the movement and immediately detect the sequence.
Tears in the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments can be partial or complete. After the diagnosis of a complete tear in active athletes, surgery is decided. In those who do not actively do sports, it is beneficial to use the medical treatment and physical therapy opportunities to the fullest before the surgery.
