Cerebral Palsy (CP), Spina Bifida
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a disorder that occurs as a result of brain damage caused by the child's brain being deprived of oxygen for a period of time during birth. The most common form is the "spastic" type, which is accompanied by excessive contractions in the arms and legs.
In children with mild muscle shortening and joint limitations, the most commonly used treatment method in recent years is Botulinum (Botox) injections.
Various support devices called orthoses can be used to facilitate standing and walking in children with CP. The most commonly used orthoses are plastic supports called AFOs, which include the ankle.
In recent years, in addition to classical exercise treatments, some alternative treatment systems have been developed in treatment centers in parallel with new technological developments. The most important of these systems is robotic walking systems. This system, known as the Pediatric Lokomat, is very effective in facilitating walking training and providing a proper walking pattern.
